The programme aims to educate IT professionals and individuals with relevant background on the state-of-the-art technologies and tools related to Information Systems. It provides students with solid technological background and enhances students’ competitiveness in a career related to emerging areas of Information Systems.

Programme Characteristics
- This programme caters the current and emerging market demands in the local and regional IT industry. With our understanding on local technological trends and strong links with IT companies, it is ensured that the tools, software and applications covered in this programme are aligned with those used in the latest IT market;
- Students will gain hands-on experience on software, tools and applications which are often required in IS-related jobs. Students will learn the state-of-the-art systems, applications and software technologies underpinning the building and deployment of Information Systems.

Applicants should normally:
-
possess a bachelor degree in science, engineering or IT relevant fields from a recognized university or equivalent qualification; and
-
be proficient in English (applicants not using English as the medium of learning in their bachelor degree programme are required not only to provide evidence of good English proficiency (e.g. obtained satisfactory results in TOEFL, IELTS, the College English Test in Mainland China (CET-4 / CET-6), or English proficiency courses in recognized universities), but also to attend an interview for further evaluation on their English proficiency).

The programme includes 10 units of core courses and 18 units of elective courses. If a student has relevant background knowledge / experience in the subject of Database Systems and Administration, he/she must take an elective course to substitute the core course "Database Systems and Administration".
The elective courses are organized into three streams, namely, Enterprise Computing, Financial Information Systems and Health Information Systems, and an MSc Practicum. Each student is required to select at least ONE course from each stream.

The tuition fee for the entire programme is HK$89,000.
If a student cannot complete the programme within the typical study schedule, he/she is required to pay extra tuition fee.

Scholarships and Financial Support
To encourage students to achieve excellence in their studies, we provide the following scholarship:
- Entrance Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to freshmen with excellent academic records in their undergraduate studies. Each awardee will receive up to HK$10,000, depending on his / her academic records.
- Distinction / Merit Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to the students who achieve excellent or very good academic results in any semester. Each awardee will receive up to HK$20,000 throughout the entire period of normal study, depending only on his / her academic performances and without quota limit.
For Students who are Hong Kong residents, they can receive a financial support of up to HK$10,000 from the Continuing Education Fund provided by the Hong Kong SAR Government.
