International IT Fest 2015 - IT Exploration Tour for Secondary Students

Commissioned by The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer and co-organised with the Hong Kong Association for Computer Education (HKACE), the Department organized a half-day tour on campus for around 30 secondary school students. The tour was one of the events of the International IT Fest 2015 to stimulate student’s interest in Information and communications technology (ICT).
After the introduction by Dr. William Cheung, Associate Head of Computer Science, students were divided into two groups. One group of them had participated in a mobile application workshop, while the other group had joined a cloud-based treasure hunt game. Students were able to gain exposure and hands-on experience on mobile apps development and some basic ideas about computer game programming and concepts of cloud-based technologies.
