Abstract
This seminar will first give an overview of the School of Computer Sciences and Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT-CS). Then some research work in the field of Web Intelligence by the Network and Security Laboratory of BIT-CS is sketched, including “DOM Based Content Extraction via Text Density” published in SIGIR2011. The seminar will be conducted in Mandarin.

Biography
Dr. Lejian Liao is currently the vice dean of BIT-CS, and in charge of Network and Security Laboratory. He is also a fellow of the Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), and the mediator of the CAAI Expertise Committee of Intelligent Information Networks. He received the Master and PhD degrees in the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1988 and 1994 respectively. For years he has been working in the area of distributed artificial Intelligence and Semantic Web. His current academic interests also cover Web services, Web mining, and knowledge-based security analysis.
