Abstract
The data analytics and artificial intelligence techniques, due to the wide adoption of electronic health records (EHR), have recently been explored with the objective to assist healthcare providers to make better decisions and deliver care of higher quality. EHR data is complex and contains structured and unstructured information of diverse types, including diagnoses, medications, laboratory tests, progress notes, vital signs, radiology images, etc. In addition, there exist different medical ontologies where domain knowledge is captured. In this talk, I will present how the ICU data and the ontologies can be integrated using data analytics and artificial intelligence techniques for related predictive analytics tasks. Some of our recent research works on enhancing the techniques for better performance will also be highlighted.
