Third Runner-up Award in ACM Collegiate Programming Contest (Hong Kong) 2014

Mai Guangcan (PhD, Year 1), Peng Yuhan (CS, Year 3) and Leng Tianbing (IS, Year 3) won the Third Runner-up Award at the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Collegiate Programming Contest (Hong Kong) held on 28 June 2014. Among 30 participating teams from 15 invited institutions in Hong Kong and Macau, they solved challenging problems in programming to receive the award.

Enchanted to receiving the award, Mai Guangcan shared, "Well preparation and courage did helped our success. It was encouraging that we were the first team to solve the problem that only 2 teams have worked out. I have learnt a lot from my teammates, including their excellent analyzing ability and also their outstanding programming skills."

The annual ACM Collegiate Programming Contest (Hong Kong) is a team-based computer programming competition organised by the ACM Hong Kong Chapter. Each team is assigned a computer and seven challenging programming problems. The team has to design and write computer programmes to solve as many of these problems as possible in four hours.
