For students admitted to Year 1
For students admitted to Year 1, they are admitted on a Faculty basis and they will study Common First Year before declaring major programme. Please refer to Bachelor of Science programme
offered by Faculty of Science.
For students directly admitted to Year 3 (Senior Year Entrants)
Regular Non-JUPAS Admission Exercise
Applicants fulfilling the following requirements may apply for direct admission to Year 3 of BSc (Hons) in Computer Science Programme in 2019-2020:
- Final year students or graduates of sub-degree programmes and degree holders; or
- Transfer students who have completed at least one year of study of a 3-year degree programme or two years of study of a 4-year degree programme.
Eligible and suitable applicants will be invited for interview on a case-by-case basis, depending on the depth and relevancy of the subjects and programme they are enrolled and their academic and non-academic performance. Interviews for regular Non-JUPAS admission exercise are usually conducted from March to May. Selected applicants will receive interview notifications through Academic Registry by email / phone / SMS.
Applicants should submit an online application through the University’s Online Application System
. Application is usually open from October to early January of the following year. Students who didn’t submit application will not be considered. Successful applicants who are offered a place of admission will be informed through Academic Registry by post / email / phone. Applicants can view their application status through the Applicant Enquiry System

School Recommendation Scheme
The Scheme is arranged in addition to the regular Non-JUPAS admission exercise. The Department invites sub-degree programmes to nominate qualified students for interview. Successful candidates, apart from receiving offer, will be awarded Scholarship for Computer Science Non-JUPAS School Recommendation Scheme
based on their academic scores and interview performance.
Study plans are prepared for applicants who are admitted to Year 3 study on individual basis. Study plan samples
are available for reference.
Summer Programme for Senior Year Entrants
To facilitate senior year entrants to participate in the exchange programme / internship training and to lighten their study load in normal semesters, Summer Programme is held around July. Details of Summer Programme can be found at http://www.hkbu.edu.hk/ar/summer
