Dr. Li's current research interest includes:
semi-supervised learning, relational learning, kernel-based learning, nominal data learning, spectral graph methods,
randomized algorithms, clustering, classifier ensemble, regularization methods, random field and random graph models. Projects on applications of
machine learning includes: social media analysis, road traffic monitoring, automated web page design, computer vision and information retrieval.
Previous research projects of Dr. Li include pattern recogntion systems for automatic wire-bonding machine, cancer prognosis and diagnosis, and tongue diagnosis.
Dr. Li's primary administrative duty is the coordination of admission for the BSc (Hons) in Computer Science (Computer Systems) degree programme.
Currently, I am organizing 2007 International Workshop on Social Media Analysis and have previously organized International Conference on Pattern Recognition 2006, the Intelligence@Society Contest and the IEEE EEE05 International Conference on E-technology, E-commerce, and E-service.
