The programme aims to educate IT managers and professionals who possess technical and management knowledge for designing, developing and managing IT systems. It provides a transformational experience in integrating the technological and managerial sides of IT. On completion of this programme, students will acquire:
- the current knowledge in selected areas of IT management (namely, IT enterprise management, knowledge and information management, Internet and Web technologies, business analytics, and/or health informatics);
- the technical and management knowledge in an integrated manner for designing, developing and managing IT systems;
- the sense and creativity of identifying business needs and the capability of transforming them into IT systems;
- the learning capability and solid foundations for sustainable self-development in the rapidly changing IT field.

Applicants should normally:
-
possess a Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business or other relevant fields from a
recognized university or equivalent qualification; and
-
be proficient in English (Applicants not using English as the medium of learning in their
Bachelor's degree programme are required to provide evidence of good English proficiency
(e.g., obtained satisfactory results in TOEFL, the College English Test in the Mainland, or English proficiency courses in the universities)).
For exceptional cases in which applicants have other qualifications and substantial experience in IT,
we will determine their suitability based on individual merits and interviews.

Each student is required to complete 29 units as follows:

Each student must complete three core courses which cover the foundations of IT and management.
However, if she/he has a Bachelor's degree in IT or closely related fields or has taken equivalent courses, she/he must substitute the
core course "Foundations of Information Technology" by an elective course.

| The elective courses are divided into five streams and MSc project: |

| Each student is required to select at least three streams among the five streams and take at least one
course in each selected stream. |
In addition, if a student does not have adequate programming experience, she/he is required to take a 32-hour
Supplementary Programming course (which will be offered in Saturdays or Sundays).
If a student wants to specialize in Health Informatics, he/she must i) complete at least three courses in the stream, including "Health Informatics"; ii) complete an MSc project in the area of health informatics; and iii) fulfill the general requirements of the MSc ITM programme. After completion, a student will get an MSc in IT Management degree while his/her specialization in Health Informatics will be shown on the transcript.

Programme Duration and Study Schedule
Students can select either one-year full-time study mode or two-year part-time study mode.
Classes will be conducted on weekday evenings and Saturdays, so that both part-time and full-time students can attend these classes. Some courses may be offered in the daytime for full-time students.

Financial Support
Continuing Education Fund:
The Hong Kong SAR Government has set up a
Continuing Education Fund (CEF) to subsidize Hong Kong residents to pursue continuing education.
Some core and elective courses of this M.Sc. programme have been included in the list of reimbursable courses for CEF purposes. In other words, if a student is a Hong Kong resident, he/she can obtain a reimbursement of at most $10,000. For details, please visit:

Distinction/Merit
Scholarships
are provided to students with excellent academic performance. Each student can obtain at most HK $20,000.
Entrance Scholarships are provided to freshmen with excellent academic
