Student Workshop of 2007 IEEE International Conference on e-Business Engineering

e-Business is an area which needs especially close collaboration between academia and industry for identifying the real concerns and applying the right technologies. This workshop aims to provide research students with real e-business scenarios or concerns raised by the practitioners and executives and to challenge them to suggest solutions enabled by advanced e-Business technologies. This year all the scenarios were provided by small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs).

Students currently taking full-time research degrees are invited to submit papers of 4-6 pages of IEEE 2-column Proceedings format to participate this workshop. We allow papers to have multiple authors but the majority of the work and writing has to be done by students. The submissions are expected to be related to one of the scenarios being provided (not necessary to be exactly the same) but we also welcome submissions which address problems based on other real cases. Each submission will be reviewed by a panel with members from both academia and industry. The evaluation criteria are problem understanding, originality and feasibility of the proposed solutions/ideas, elegancy of the related design, as well as the overall paper presentation and organization. While we do not expect the solutions/ideas to be implemented, having some of the ideas implemented to further demonstrate the feasibility will be a plus. Authors of the accepted papers are expected to attend the workshop and present their papers in poster and oral presentation sessions. Accepted papers will be printed in a proceeding to be distributed to the workshop participants and the copyright of the accepted papers will belong to the authors.
