Our department has been playing an active role in promoting academic exchange and quality research in a wide spectrum of academic areas. This year, we are proud to line up with world-class researchers from Japan in exploring research issues and challenges in field informatics.
The "Kyoto University - Hong Kong Baptist University Joint Workshop on Field Informatics" was held on 5 March 2012, where scholars from Kyoto University and Waseda University discussed their research expertise and progresses with our faculty members. Followed by the opening remarks by Prof. Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research and Development), the workshop consisted of presentations alternatively hosted by our faculty members and scholars from Japan. Our research postgraduate students actively participated in the event too. As an excellent platform to exchange with top Japanese scholars, the workshop was well-received by our postgraduate students.
