Learning Beyond the Classroom: Discover Cutting-Edge R&D at Huawei Innovation Hub

On 1 March 2025, a group of undergraduate and postgraduate students embarked a visit to Huawei’s Research and Development Base in Dongguan.
The group visited the Huawei Headquarter Library, a research hub dedicated for Huawei's IT talents.
The tour also included a visit to the renowned Ox Horn Campus and its innovation laboratories.
On 1 March 2025, our undergraduate and postgraduate students embarked on an eye-opening visit to Huawei, one of the world’s leading tech giants in China. The visit provided a unique opportunity for students to explore Huawei’s innovative workspaces and gain invaluable insights into careers in research and development (R&D) within the fast-evolving tech industry.
The visit began with an inspiring session led by Huawei representatives, who shared insights into the company’s vision and advancements in the global tech landscape. Following this, the group visited the Flagship Store, where they explored the latest developments in Huawei’s smart car, showcasing cutting-edge innovations aimed at sustainable development. In the afternoon, they explored the state-of-the-art R&D laboratories and its renowned Ox Horn Campus, a European-themed tech hub designed to foster creativity and collaboration. This immersive experience provided students with a glimpse into Huawei’s dynamic work culture.
Reflecting on the experience, one of the participants, Zhang Ziqi, expressed her excitement, stating, “The tour provided me with profound insights into the corporate culture of a top-tier tech company. Additionally, the meaningful dialogue with Huawei representatives deepened my understanding of career development in R&D and reinforced my aspirations to pursue a career in the tech industry!”
