To equip students with the skills and connections needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market, the Department of Computer Science regularly partners with leading industries to host recruitment talks, workshops, and seminars on campus. On 27 August, Amazon, a global technology leader, delivered an engaging recruitment talk for our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Themed “From Camera to AI Revolution: Inside Ring’s Smart Home Innovation”, the session showcased Amazon Devices & Services’ cutting-edge AI advancements in smart home security and highlighted exciting career opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. Mr. Kah Kuen Fu, Director of Applied Science, and Mr. Ning Zhou and Mr. Yang Liu, Senior Managers of Applied Science at Amazon Devices and Services shared insights into how next generation connected devices are reshaping intelligent living. They also outlined diverse AI and machine learning career paths at Amazon, inspiring students to pursue global opportunities in applied science and technological innovation.
Through interactive discussions, students explored real-world applications of AI in smart home technology and the transformative potential of AI in driving innovation at Amazon. The Department is committed to fostering strong industry connections through career development initiatives. The Amazon Recruitment Talk is part of our ongoing efforts to broaden students’ professional horizons, promote meaningful industry engagement, and equip them with future-ready skills in the rapidly evolving field of AI.
