Dr. Wilson Yu received his BEng degree in in Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering from The University of Hong Kong in 2000. He was a Croucher Foundation Scholar and obtained his DPhil in Engineering Science from The University of Oxford in 2005. His research interests include data science, business analytics, web analytics, digital transformation and data warehousing technologies. 

 

Prior to joining HKBU, Dr. Yu was the Group Director of Data Scientists at FWD, having led the direction of digital analytics and machine learning practices. Dr. Yu held a number of managerial and consulting positions across industries including Dairy Farm International, HSBC, Cigna, Las Vegas Sands Corp., McCann Group and Hong Kong Disneyland. He published a number of research articles and obtained a departmental research funding grant at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
