Gao Qingshi graduated from Department of Mathematics and Mechanics, Peking University in 1957. He was elected Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1980, one of two first Academicians in the computer science area. He was Vice Head of design of the control and computing center of the ground control system for the first Chinese satellite in early stages. He is currently a Professor and Director of Institute of Intelligence, Languages and Computer Science, Beijing University of Sciences and Technology. Prof. Gao has been engaged in computer architecture design (1957-80), and researched on computer architecture (1957-), parallel algorithm (1973-), machine translation(1980-), human intelligence and its simulation and application (1980-), network security (1999-02) and fuzzy set theory (2004-). He has published more than 70 papers in journals and international conference proceedings, and applied 6 patents in recent three years. He has supervised about 90 PhD and Master students.
