COMP Undergraduate Is Awarded CY Tung Scholarship for Semester at Sea 2020 Spring Voyage

James SEE Shing Yi (Computer Science, Year 4, Computing and Software Technologies Concentration) is awarded CY Tung Scholarship worth US$20,000. The scholarship supports him to join the Semester at Sea (SAS) Spring 2020 Voyage and widen his international exposure. James is the 7th awardee in a row from HKBU as well as the sole winner from Hong Kong during SAS Spring 2020.

 

CY Tung Scholarship, in honor of C.Y. Tung, aims to support students attending the SAS programme (Fall or Spring Voyage). Each voyage, a minimum of five Chinese national students, attending Universities in China, are awarded the scholarship to cover part of the programme fee.

 

Co-organized by The Institute for Shipboard Education (ISE) and Colorado State University, SAS Spring 2020 Voyage will last for 106 days, from January to April, and visit 11 countries including Hawaii, United States, Japan, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Mauritius, South Africa, Ghana and Morocco. It aims to give participants a truly global comparative experience as the ship journeys through various cultures around the world.
