Originally from Pakistan, Bhawish seeks to support his community through education and technology.
As the Founder and President of the HKBU Coding Club (Student Society), Bhawish helps enhance student experience and encourage collaboration across different academic disciplines.
Bhawish Kumar, a third-year Computer Science undergraduate, has been selected as a recipient of HKBU Outstanding Student Leaders Award. This award is given annually to up to six undergraduate students who exemplify a balance of academic excellence, community service, and extracurricular involvement.
Bhawish was recognised for founding and leading the HKBU Coding Club, and serving as Director of Partnerships for the HKBU Model United Nations (2024-2025). These initiatives have strengthened student engagement and promoted cross-disciplinary collaboration at the University.
Reflecting on the award, Bhawish expressed his gratitude to the Department of Computer Science and its faculty members for their mentorship and generous support. He also emphasised that any success attributed to the Club is the result of the hard work and dedication of the 2025-2026 Executive Committee, noting that their collective effort was the essential driver of progress.
Hailing from Mirpur Khas in Sindh, Pakistan, Bhawish is deeply motivated to give back to his home community. "My goal is to support my community through education and technology," Bhawish shared. "My time at HKBU has equipped me with practical leadership skills and a broader perspective on how to turn this mission into a reality."
