Two Students Won HKEIA Innovation and Technology Project Competition Award (2013)

Mr. Zhao Wenfei, Brian (Computer Science) and Ms. Ng Pui Ching, Alison (Computer Science) won Merit Awards of HKEIA Innovation and Technology Project Competition Award (2013).

Brian's project named 'iHealthiness' which is a fall detection and health information application on Android platform. The application is specifically designed for the vulnerable people which focuses on the detection of falling and aftermath seeking help mechanism. By the use of GPS, Glonass, WiFi or phone networks, iHealthiness can locate the user's position and inform the user by the marker on the map if the position of him or her is a steep ramp or slippery by searching its own database. It also integrates with a compass and practical health related tips.

Alison's project allows consumers to raise customized enquiries and know about their desired products and latest information by involving in location-based Q&A and real-time interactions with other consumers nearby. This Price Enquiry & Reporting Application, called 'Smart Shopper', is a location-based android mobile application. Consumers are motivated and encouraged to take part in this mobile application by using scoring system to ensure the right to raise new enquiries in the future. Similarly, the quality of answers is defined by questioners and other users who will give appropriate rating to related answers and reporters.
