Two Students Win the 2014 Pan-Pearl River Delta Region – IT FYP Competition (Hong Kong Region)

Congratulations to Yum Chin Fung, Justin (Computer Science) and Ian Choi (Computer Science) who won the 2nd runner-up and the 3rd runner-up respectively in the 2014 Pan-Pearl River Delta Region - IT FYP Competition (Hong Kong Region).

Justin's SecretChat: Instant Messaging with Privacy Protection is a messaging application with security and privacy protection, including read-once-self-delete feature; group-specific password protection; different combinations of encryption methods; and backup messages using XOR coding and encryption.

Ian's AMaze: A Maze Exploration Mobile RPG provides procedural generation of game content. It is implemented with path finding and AI to increase challenges. Players can apply the plugin social media integration and online trading of in-game items via in-app auction house features.

14 teams from various local institutions participated in the competition this year. Justin and Ian will represent Hong Kong (with two other teams) to join the final round of competition in Shenzhen with the other 250 institutions.
