The 2024 Winter School on Biometrics (WSB2024) was held in Shenzhen on 21-25 January, 2024. Jointly organised by the Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong Baptist University, the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology, the winter school attracted over 100 participants, including professors and senior postgraduate students from world-wide tertiary institutions, was made possible with the generous support of XSuperzone, the Golden Sponsor.
The 5-day winter school included lectures, hands-on session, talks from industry and social programme. To consolidate the fundamental knowledge of biometrics and share the latest biometric development, the scope of the programme is designed to cover the topics which mainly include mobile biometrics, anti-spoofing, template protection, and fundamental of different biometric modalities. The theme of this year was Trustworthy, Privacy-preserving and Safe Biometrics. New and challenging topics are covered in the course by internationally renowned experts from all over the world.
