To equip our students with real-world insights and foster valuable industry connections, the BSc (Hons) in Business Computing and Data Analytics (BCDA) proudly initiated its Industrial Mentorship Programme (the Programme) in 2019. The latest edition of the Programme kicked off on 27 January 2024, with a vibrant cohort of mentors and mentees ready to engage in this year-long rewarding journey.

Dr. Jean Lai, Programme Director of BCDA expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative and highlighted its visionary purpose. “The Industrial Mentorship Programme is a unique initiative aimed at empowering our students by immersing them in the dynamic realms of business computing and data analytics. This one-year mentorship engagement fosters profound, personalised mentor-mentee relationships, enabling students to garner insight from seasoned professionals who provide not just practical advice but also essential skills cultivation."

“Participation in this Programme presents a priceless opportunity to forge connections with mentors from diverse sectors. With their extensive knowledge and professional expertise, these mentors are poised to provide us with invaluable career guidance and insights from their life journeys. I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity to be paired with an industry mentor during my university journey,” one of the mentees shared.

The Industrial Mentorship Programme is designed to provide a comprehensive educational experience that extends beyond the classroom. In its current cycle, the Programme matches ten industry mentors with a group of over 20 students, bringing a rich diversity of experiences and insights from key sectors such as Fintech, information technology, wealth management, hospitality, and more. Their guidance and mentorship will undoubtedly enrich the students’ academic pathways, and equip them with the practical skills and industry insights necessary to confidently and skilfully navigate their future careers.
