The hands-on session will be supported by OpenCV China Team. All on-site participants will receive a VIM3 -- an ARM development board with NPU, sponsored by Khadas. In the hands-on session, the on-site participants will learn to develop a real-time face recognition system on VIM3 using OpenCV, and the online participants will develop the real-time face recognition system using their own personal computers.
Participants should form a team of two who are from different affiliations and complete the system. Other biometric systems are welcomed as well, but participants should discuss with and get approval from instructors first. Three teams with excellent work will be awarded certificates.
What should the on-site participants prepare?
1. A laptop computer for reading documents. But it is optional.
What should the online particpants prepare?
1. Install OpenCV 4.5.5 into your computer.
2. A webcam.
Khadas VIM3
The VIM3 SBC (single board computer) is produced by Khadas, an OpenCV development partner. VIM3 is of the size of a credit-card and has a powerful Amlogic A311D SoC: x4 Cortex A73 performance-cores (2.2Ghz), and x2 Cortex A53 efficiency-cores (1.8Ghz) are merged into a hexa-core configuration, and fabricated with a 12nm process to maximize performance, thermal and electrical efficiency. What’s more, it has an onboard 5.0 TOPS NPU for deep learning applications. For detailed VIM3 specifications, please go to https://www.khadas.com/vim3 .
