Face Presentation Attack Detection

Slides (pdf)  Size: 13.3MB

Abstract

Face recognition technology has been successfully deployed in many practical applications, ranging from law enforcement to e-payment and mobile phone log-on. While face recognition for person authentication offers a great convenience, what’s happen if your e-payment mobile application is hacked by attacker? As such, the security of face recognition applications becomes a public concern. Along this line, many research efforts have been put to address this issue. In this lecture, I will give a brief review on the existing methods. After that, I will share our recent works on the 3D mask presentation attack detection (PAD), as well as the generalized face PAD.

Biography

Pong C Yuen received his B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering with first class honours in 1989 from City Polytechnic of Hong Kong, and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1993 from The University of Hong Kong.
