IAPR/IEEE Winter School on Biometrics 2027* will be held at Shenzhen on 17 to 21 January 2027. The theme this year will be Next Generation of Biometrics and Behaviour Science: Multimodal Foundation Models, Generative and Agentic AI. Jointly organized by the Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong Baptist University, the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology, the course will include lectures, hands-on sessions, and talks from industry and social programmes. To consolidate the fundamental knowledge of biometrics and share the latest biometric development, the scope of the programme is designed to cover topics that include generative AI, biometrics data synthesis and evaluation, biometrics data privacy, presentation attack detection, template protection, identifying frauds, fairness and bias in biometrics, and fundamentals of different biometric modalities. Since some of the topics are relatively new and challenging, the programme is led by internationally renowned experts from around the world. Based on advanced biometric technology, the programme's main objective is to equip participants with up-to-date biometric knowledge and provide an opportunity to develop personal and professional connections for future careers.
