2007 FYP Competition

The FYP competition of Year 2007 has been recently concluded. We have 7 entries this year from HKU, HKUST, ChineseU, and PolyU. Each paper went through a review process by our panel consisting of experts in the area of computational intelligence. The Chapter extends its thankful note to all the participants to promote the field of computational intelligence among Hong Kong students. In this year, the competitions include the undergraduate part and the postgraduate part.

The three projects that went to the final round of the PG research paper competition are as follows:
1. First Prize: “Building Bridges for Web Query Classification”, Student: Dou Shen, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Supervisor: Prof. Qiang Yang.
2. Second Prize: “Generalized Regularized Least-Squares Learning with Predefined Features in a Hilbert Space”, Student: Wenye Li, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Supervisor: Prof. Kin-Hong Lee and Prof. Kwong-Sak Leung.
3. Third Prize: “Minimality Attack in Privacy Preserving Data Publishing and Efficient Spatial Matching Raymond”, Student: Chi-Wing Wong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Supervisor: Prof. Ada Wai-Chee Fu.

The project that went to the final round of the UG Final Year Project competition is:

1. First Prize: “Digital Interactive Game Interface Table”
Author: Siu Sin Hang and Tsui Chi Wing, Au Pak Shing, Leung Chun Ming, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Supervisor: Prof. Irwin King.
