2013 Student Project Competition:
Sep 07, 2013
Both the 10th Final Year Project (FYP) Competition and 7th Postgraduate Paper Contest organized by the IEEE (HK) Computational Intelligence Chapter have been recently concluded.
This year, we have received several entries from different universities in Hong Kong, including the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, the University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Each submitted project/paper went through a review process by our panel consisting of experts in the area of computational intelligence.
Finally, the following papers/projects were shortlisted, and then presented in the ceremony, which was held on Septemper 7, 2013. As a result, the competition results are as follows:
FYP Competition:
1. Champion: “Music Annotation with Augmented MFCC”, Student: NI Chenying (CityU)
2. First Runner-up: “Investigation of PSO for Multi-objective optimisation”, Student: LEUNG Man Fai(OUHK)
3. Second Runner-up: “Treating Cockroach Phobia with Augmented Reality, Graded Exposure and Microsoft Kinect”, Student: CHEUNG Stella Wing Nga (OUHK)
Postgraduate Paper Contest:
1. Champion: “Distributed Clock Skew and Offset Estimation in Wireless Sensor Networks with Belief Propagation: Asynchronous Algorithm and Convergence Analysis”, Student: DU Jian (HKU)
2. First Runner-up: “The Dynamics of Reinforcement Social Learning in Cooperative Multiagent Systems”, Student: HAO Jianye (CUHK)
3. Second Runner-up: “Applying Heuristic Optimization and Cloud Computing to Investiment Opportunities Forecasting”, Student: LI Zhixi(HKU)
