(Call For Participation) IEEE (HK) Computational Intelligence Chapter FYP & PG Competition 2020-2021

Objective



To promote computational intelligence among students in Hong Kong.

Types of Submissions



Undergraduate Final Year Project

I.Conducted within the final-year of undergraduate study by one or a group of Hong Kong students currently registered with a tertiary institution in Hong Kong;

II.Conducted for the purpose of an approved course, which would normally last for a whole academic year, offered by a tertiary institution;

III.Supervised by at least one tertiary institution faculty member in the course of its development; and

IV.Conducted in an area of computational intelligence including but not limited to: artificial intelligence and machine learning, intelligent risk management, financial engineering, simulation process, pattern and speech recognition, intelligent systems, data mining, fuzzy systems, neutral networks, and evolutionary computation.

Postgraduate Student Research Paper

I.Conducted within the postgraduate study by one or a group of Hong Kong students currently registered with a tertiary institution in Hong Kong;  and

II.Conducted in an area of computational intelligence including but not limited to: artificial intelligence and machine learning, intelligent risk management, financial engineering, simulation process, pattern and speech recognition, intelligent systems, data mining, fuzzy systems, neutral networks, and evolutionary computation.

Prizes



The Champion, First Runner-up and Second Runner-up in each group will receive a certificate issued by the IEEE (HK) Computational Intelligence Chapter and other prizes to be decided.
Important Dates (tentative)

June 21, 2021,  July 5, 2021– Project report/paper submission due.

July 31, 2021 – Announcement of shortlisted projects.

August 21, 2021 – Final presentation/demonstration and award ceremony.

Submission:



A project report/research paper with 15 to 30 pages, which must include an abstract, a full description of the project as well as the contact information of the authors and the supervisor, should be submitted electronically to:

For Postgraduate Student Research Paper, a contribution declaration form should be submitted electronically to the above email address together with your report/paper. The contribution declaration form can be downloaded at

The Declaration form is not needed for Undergraduate Final Year Projects. Students will be required to give a presentation if their projects are shortlisted.
