Report of 7th PG Day

The Postgraduate Research Symposium (PG Day) is becoming an essential event of the department which provides a formal way for postgraduate students to present and share their research ideas, works, and experiences. This year the 7th (PG Day) was carried out on 10th January, 2008.

There were totally 16 papers coming from the PhD and MPhil candidates of the department. Presentation was divided into four sessions coving data mining, pattern recognition, information system, and database & networking. We also had the keynote talk "Top-10 Algorithms in Data Mining" delivered by Prof. Xindong Wu.

In this symposium, Mr. Liu Chang won the best paper award and Mr. Victor Cheng won the best presentation award. Finally, the PG Day organizing committee thanks the active participation of the faculty members and the students and their effort has make it a successfully event.
