Career Path
I was previously trained in art/commerical field and interested in Economics/Accounting during high school. I studied at Hong Kong Baptist College (later HK Baptist University) in 1991 and City University of Hong Kong in 1999. The Bachelor degree course is a sandwich study (2 years full-time and 3 years part-time). Since 1993, I have joined the Computer Science Department at Hong Kong Baptist University as a Technician/Demonstrator. I was awarded a BSc (Hons) and MSc degree in Computer Science in 1996 and 2001 respectively.

The completion of Bachelor Degree help me learn about Information Systems and Software Engineering to become a System Analyst. My graduate learning led me to persue professional training which specializes in networking and distributed systems. The master degree is a well-known heavily loading course because of workshops and lots of projects. During the time of dissertation presentation, only 24 out of 60 students could firstly complete on schedule.

The Technician/Demonstrator is a junior position. My department had no computer officer or assistant computer officer post until 1998. However, my department head said that my skills and technical capabilities have been equivalent to the requirements of an Assistant Computer Officer or above. My job gives much advantages to my studies therefore I remain there. My primary dutes are UNIX system/network/database administrator, security expert, laboratory manager and partly the course tutor and user support.

I intend to welcome all job and working opportunities. Will there be a Ph.D.? Who knows. Currently I find the way to enrol the Master of Finance (in HKU?) or any one MBA programme. I am afraid of GMAT exams though.

Publications
1. Intrusion Detection of Denial of Service in a Distributed Environment by agents (Master degree Dissertation)
2. UNIX System Monitoring (Honours Project)
