The first donation of this fund was come from the Applied Computing alumni
who entered the CSD in 1991. In 2010, an email
of additional fund raising for this scholarship was sent to CSD alumni. As supported
by the CSD head, donation to the Computer Science Department Alumni Scholarship
Fund was matched 100% by the Computer Science Department. The upper limit of
the matched fund to be contributed by the department was HK$100,000.
A Computer Science Department Alumni Scholarship Ad-hoc committee was formed in Dec 2008.
It was a great pleasure to invite the following alumni to be the members of
this committee. Mr. Ng Hoi Shing, Raymond was elected as the chairperson of
this committee. The committee members also served in the selection panel in 2009.

The evaluation of scholarship applicants is formal and comprehensive. A selection panel from alumni of various graduation years has been formed. In addition, the CSD head or his delegate will also serve in the panel. Each applicant must submit an application form with relevant supporting documents on or before the deadline. Potential candidates will be invited to attend an interview with the selection panel. Then, the panel will make recommendation on scholarship recipient(s) to the department.
