The tuition fee for the entire programme is:
Local student: HK$200,000
Non-local student: HK$240,000
If a student cannot complete the programme within the normal study schedule, he/she is required to pay extra tuition fee.
Scholarships:
High Distinction/Distinction/Merit Scholarships are provided to students with very good academic performance. Each student can obtain at most HK $30,000.
Entrance Scholarships are provided to freshmen with excellent academic performance in their undergraduate studies. Each awardee could receive at most HK $50,000. The scholarship will be presented to the awardees upon completion of their first year of studies.
Global Experience Scholarships are awarded to support students to participate in the designated global outreach programme(s) organized by the Department. Students are selected for this scholarship based on two criteria: (i) academic records and (ii) suitability for the designated outreach programme (e.g., learning motivation and communication skills). Each awardee will receive a certificate and financial support to cover the expenses for the major transportation and accommodation (such as airline ticket and hotel) for the outreach progrmme.
MSc Research Scholarships are awarded to the students who perform well in the research-oriented courses and fulfill the following requirements: (i) the grade obtained in “COMP7960 MSc Research I” or “COMP7970 MSc Research II” in a semester is A or A-, (ii) the results obtained in COMP7960 or COMP7970 are of publishable quality, and (iii) the affiliation of the authors in the paper is “Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong Baptist University”. The amount of each scholarship is up to HK $5,000, depending on the quality of the results.
Student Conference Travel Scholarships are awarded to support the students who present their research results in international conferences. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must have completed a research paper in the MSc DAAI or MSc ITM programme under the supervision of our academic/teaching staff and this paper has been accepted for presentation by a reputable international conference. The scholarship provides financial support covering up to 50% of the actual expenses incurred for conference attendance. The scholarship award is capped at $10,000 per student.
Financial Support for Certification Examination:
A financial support is provided to each student for encouraging them to take certification examinations. Student could reimburse at most take two recognized certification examinations. The amount for each examination is up to HK $2000, depending on the examination result.
Continuing Education Fund:
The Hong Kong SAR Government has set up a Continuing Education Fund (CEF) to subsidize Hong Kong residents to pursue continuing education. The University Grants Committee (UGC) launched the Scholarship Scheme with an aim to attract more local students to pursue advanced studies in priority areas conducive to the development of Hong Kong and expand the pool of high-calibre talents for various domains.
The scholarship recipients enjoy a much lower tuition fee, which is the prevailing rate of the UGC-funded programmes (i.e., HK$47,000 for 2026 intake), and the difference will be subsidised by UGC subject to a cap of HK$100,000 for each recipient.
The MSc DAAI (Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence) Programme is one of the eligible programmes for the Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship.
Eligibility and Assessment Criteria
Local students*, both full-time and part-time, admitted to MSc DAAI are eligible to apply for the Scheme.
The scholarships will be awarded to students on a merit basis; assessment criteria include but not limited to the following:
To avoid double subsidy, applications from students who are receiving other government scholarships or financial support for pursuing the same programme (including the Continuing Education Fund) will not be considered. Nevertheless, students provided with financial assistance in the form of loans from the Government (e.g. Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme under Student Finance Office) to settle the tuition fees for the TPg programme are still eligible to apply.
Application Procedures
Eligible applicants admitted to the MSc DAAI Programme will be invited to apply for the Scholarship Scheme by Programme Office. Applicants are required to submit an application form together with supporting documents before the application deadline.
