I received my BEng degree in computer science from the Xiamen University (XMU), and PhD degree in systems engineering and engineering management (SEEM) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2014. During 2015-2016, I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of British Columbia (UBC). I then joined the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) where I am now an assistant professor in computer science. I am a member of database group at the HKBU.
My research centers on developing innovative technologies and theories of data science, particularly at the large-scale data. My field of expertise is rooted at database and data mining. I sometimes work in data visualization, machine learning, and privacy-aware computing. My projects put extensive efforts on graph data related problems with particular focus on data management, big graph mining and visualization, and social network analysis.
[Open Positions] I am looking for PhD students, research assistants, and visiting scholars. Please send me your CV, if you are interested. Strong PhD applicants are encouraged to compete for Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) 2019/20.
