HKBU Team Excels at Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 Asia-Pacific Final

The Department of Computer Science is delighted to announce that the HKBU team has reached another milestone by clinching Third Prize in the Computing Track of the Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 Asia-Pacific Final on 27 February 2025. This accomplishment builds on their earlier victory in the Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 Hong Kong SAR, showcasing their outstanding skills and unwavering commitment to excellence in the field of information and communication technology on a global arena.

This year, the Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 APAC Final attracted over 8,000 students from more than 20 countries and regions. The HKBU team, consisting of Chen Xinyu (BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, Year 2), Li Yixiang (MSc in Information Technology Management, Year 1), and Chan Ka Wing (Bachelor of Business Administration, Year 2), demonstrated exceptional performance in advanced technology areas such as openEuler, openGauss, and Kunpeng, securing Third Prize in the Computing Track. This recognition not only highlights their in-depth ICT knowledge but also underscores their advanced problem-solving skills and innovative capabilities.

The Asia-Pacific Regional Final, jointly hosted by Huawei and the ASEAN Foundation, offers an international platform for young innovators to showcase their ICT expertise, practical skills, and creative solutions. This event empowers participants to address the challenges of an ever-evolving digital landscape, fostering collaboration and innovation among the next generation of technology leaders.
