The Career Introduction Day attracts over 150 computer science students and recent graduates to engage with industrial leaders.

The Career Introduction Day, held on 15 October 2024, provided an exceptional platform for over 150 computer science students and recent graduates to connect with industry leaders. The event featured 11 prominent companies, each hosting engaging booths that offered invaluable insights into the dynamic landscape of IT career progression.

This year’s Career Introduction Day provided students with in-demand IT job opportunities, including roles such as Cyber Security Analyst, Software Developer, Game Developer, and Machine Learning Engineer, as well as diverse positions across industries. Students engaged with company delegates, gaining valuable insights into the evolving tech landscape. One participating student remarked, “Connecting with industry representatives clarified my interests and potential career paths. I also gained a deeper understanding of the essential skills and certifications needed to thrive in today’s competitive tech environment. This has been immensely helpful in preparing for my future career aspirations.”

“Every year, our Career Introduction Day receives positive feedback from both companies and students, underscoring employers' enthusiasm for engaging with our students and recognising their potential,” Dr. Jean Lai, Internship & Career Coordinator, articulated.

The Department is committed to advancing students' professional development by hosting company visits, career talks, and events like the Career Introduction Day, fostering valuable networking opportunities between students and IT professionals.
