The 25th International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies (PDCAT) successfully concluded on 15 December 2024, bringing together leading academics, engineers, and practitioners to discuss the advancements in high-performance computing.

This year, PDCAT 2024 was held from 13 to 15 December at Hong Kong Baptist University, featuring three keynotes and 55 research presentations. The keynote sessions began with Professor Mikhail Y. Kovalyov, Principal Researcher of the United Institute of Informatics Problems and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, who explored the principles and applications of dynamic programming in tackling various decision problems. This was followed by Dr. He Sun, Reader in the School of Informatics of the University of Edinburgh, who shed light on the fundamentals of spectral clustering and its application in designing dynamic algorithms for efficient implementations of complex cluster structures. On the second day, Professor Jiangchuan Liu, Professor in the School of Computing Science of Simon Fraser University, presented "Networked Live Video Analytics: From Design to Deployment” and examined the applications of live video analytics in real-world scenarios, such as wild salmon conservation. The research-sharing sessions explored diverse topics, including Big Data Management, High-Performance Systems, Security and Privacy, Algorithms, and Software Systems. The collaborative insights forged in this conference illuminate the evolving landscape of high-performance computing and fostered connections across disciplines.

Since its inception in 2000, PDCAT has served as an international platform for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to facilitate the exchange of research findings and applications in parallel and distributed computing, algorithms, and programming techniques.
