COMP PhD Graduate Professor Meng Ye Awarded NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund 2021

Meng Ye, PhD Graduate and Professor of the School of Computer Science, Wuhan University, has been awarded the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Overseas) 2021 for his outstanding research project on open-world visual learning and its applications in multimedia analysis and reasoning.

Professor Ye has published more than 60 papers, including 20+ CCF-A papers as the first/corresponding author. He received 2300+ citations, including those from 2 Turing awardees (Geoffrey Hinton and Yann Lecun). Five papers are ESI Highly Cited.

The NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund is one of the most prestigious honors for young scientists in China. It supports young scientists with outstanding achievements to pursue innovative research in the areas of their own choice. It aims to foster a number of young talents on the frontiers of international science.
