Seven COMP Scholars Ranked as the World’s Top 2% Most-cited Scientists by Stanford University

Seven faculty members from Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong Baptist University, have been identified as the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists, including Prof. Jiming LIU, Dean of Science and Chair Professor; Prof. YUEN Pong Chi, Associate Dean of Science and Chair Professor; Prof. CHEUNG Yiu Ming, Professor; Prof. Xiaowen CHU, Professor; Prof. LEUNG Yiu Wing, Professor; Dr. CHEN Li, Associate Professor and Dr. LAN Xiangyuan, Research Assistant Professor.

The list was released by Stanford University based on the lifetime (1960-2019) citation impact and the 2019 citation impact. It is divided into 22 fields and 176 sub-discipline fields, and identifies the top 2% from nearly 7 million scientists in their own areas of specialty.

Compared to faculty size, 33.3% of our professoriate staff are listed in this global ranking, which is among the highest in Asia, recognizing the excellent research achievement and influence of our faculty members.
