Six faculty members from Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong Baptist University, have been identified as the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists, including Professor Jiming Liu, Dean of Science and Chair Professor; Professor Pong-chi Yuen, Associate Dean of Science and Chair Professor; Professor Yiu-ming Chueng, Professor; Professor Xiaowen Chu, Professor; Professor Yiu-wing Leung, Professor and Dr. Li Chen, Associate Professor.
The list was released by Stanford University based on the lifetime (1960-2020) citation impact and the 2020 citation impact. It is divided into 22 fields and 176 sub-discipline fields, and identifies the top 2% from nearly 7 million scientists in their own areas of specialty.
Compared to faculty size, 35% of our professoriate staff are listed in this global ranking, which is among the highest in Asia, recognizing the excellent research achievement and influence of our faculty members.
