Professor Jiming Liu, Head of the Department, is named IEEE Fellow by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his tremendous contributions to web intelligence and multi-agent autonomy-oriented computing. The IEEE Fellow is one of the Institute’s most prestigious honours and is bestowed each year upon less than 0.1 per cent of IEEE members who have made outstanding contributions to the electrical and information technologies and sciences for the benefit of humanity and the profession. By 2010, IEEE had over 395,000 members in 160 countries and regions.
