On 17 November 2009, our staff brought along 47 students of the BSc (Hons) in Computing Studies (Information Systems) Programme to visit the Data Centre of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) at Tseung Kwan O. The students heard a briefing on the business nature and IT structure of HSBC and toured around the operation center, war room, mainframes and other staff facilities. The students were inspired on the role of IT in a global banking company.
