Talk by Mr. Anthony O, a Pioneer of Hong Kong Computer Industry

Mr. Anthony O, a pioneer of Hong Kong computer industry and also the author of the book titled "The Computer Age in Hong Kong", was invited to visit our Department to meet with the students, and to give them a talk on 5 March 2014. With his 30 years of service with IBM HK, Anthony made his talk tracing the development of Hong Kong's IT Industry from its beginning in the early 1960s to the present, including highlighting the industry's contribution to help develop its counter-parts in China. The talk also reviewed the industry's current status and the possible ways forward, and conclude by presenting certain perspectives and guidance for students to prepare for their careers in this fast changing technology field.
