COMP Showcases its Recent Achievements and Student Projects at the Cloud Frontier - Computing Gala

The public exhibition "CLOUD FRONTIER – Computing Gala" presented by the Department of Computer Science of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) was successfully held on 24 May at Metro City Plaza, Tseung Kwan O. Over 300 participants including students from secondary schools and the general public attended the event.

Hon. Charles Peter MOK, Legislative Councillor (IT), was invited to officiate at the closing ceremony. He gave an inspiring sharing to the participants and encouraged the students to engage proactively in the development of Hong Kong's IT industry. A vast array of presentations, demonstrations, games and interactive activities in IT aspects of Health Informatics, Location-aware Computing, Business Application, Natural User Interface and Entertainment were exhibited. In addition, a voting for the Most Popular Project and Most Popular Demonstrator was organized. Hon. MOK also presented the awards to the awardees of the Most Popular Project - Mini CHAN Sin Hang, developer of the 'AR Memo Tool'; and the Most Popular Demonstrator - Justin YUM Chin Fung, developer of the 'Instant Messaging with Privacy Protection'.

The Department of Computer Science, HKBU is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. A series of meaningful activities have being organized to celebrate the growth and achievements of the Department. In signifying students' growth and promoting innovation & information technologies to the public, this public exhibition was held to showcase its recent achievements and projects by alumni and current students.
