Career Introduction Day Successfully Connects Computer Science Students with Industry Leaders

The Career Introduction Day attracts active participation from 15 leading technology companies, providing a platform for attendees to understand the IT landscape and explore diverse career paths.
More than 220 computer science students and recent graduates leverage the opportunity to gain invaluable career insights on how to excel in the dynamic tech industry, through various talks and interactive booths showcased by the participating companies.


The Career Introduction Day, held on 19 September 2023, marked an exciting opportunity to connect industry leaders with our students. The event witnessed active participation from 15 leading technology companies, who delivered engaging career talks and informative exhibits. These sessions provided invaluable insights into the landscape of IT career progression and opportunities, benefiting over 220 computer science students and recent graduates.

During the career talks, delegates from each participating company imparted a comprehensive overview of their organisations and current job openings. They also provided critical advice, highlighting the essential attitudes, skills, and certifications that job aspirants require to thrive in the ever-evolving tech industry.

“This Career Introduction Day provided a unique platform to engage in live chats with representatives from diverse companies and industries. These interactions, coupled with the enlightening career talks, empowered me to explore a range of career paths and discover my own interests, strengths, and passions,” shared by one of the participating students.

Dr. Jean Lai, Internship & Career Coordinator of the Department, expressed her delight at the resounding success of the event. “The Career Introduction Day sparked significant interaction between the company representatives and the participants,” she said. “We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback, reinforcing the commitment of employers to nurture the younger generations and their appreciation for the positive attitude exhibited by our students.”
