Top-Class Facilities

To create an excellent environment for research activities, our library currently subscribes to more than 200 databases with access to over 37,700 electronic journals, including ACM and IEEE Xplore Digital Libraries. There are also a variety of high-performance computing facilities available in our department, including a linux-based PC cluster Sciblade (ranked as the most powerful academic supercomputer in Hong Kong at Top500 supercomputer list in June 2009) and a TS10000 GPU supercomputer with 10 TFLOPS of computing power (donated by Inspur Ltd.).

Additional Support for Research-related Activities

On top of the fellowship award offered by RGC, our department provides additional scholarships for successful HKPFS awardees, as well as additional support for carrying out research-related activities such as attending overseas conferences and joining exchange programmes / attachments in world-renowned universities. In addition, Postdoctoral Research Fellowships will be awarded to outstanding PhD graduates for furthering their research in top overseas universities.
